  Perfect diner experience! The '50s look was dialed-in, the staff were fantastic, and the food was incredible. I had the maple-bacon French Toast, which was some of the best French Toast I've ever had. They had no problem keeping the bacon out to keep it vegetarian. I'm a bit of a Yorkshire pudding snob, and the Yorkies I tried were sky-high and simply perfect. The portions are huge, so come hungry. The staff were incredibly accommodating to kids, and there are plenty of high chairs and a change table in the bathroom. As well, my husband had to step out for a moment, and the owner(?) offered to remake his dish if it had gotten cold. I could not believe the great service. If you're in or around Edmonton, it is so worth the drive to check out the Downtown Diner.

  Great place to eat. Though they didn't have enough menus to give and their menu doesn't have a drink section. Some of their seats are in need of replacing but that's a bit of old school charm. Food came out in a timely manner and service was excellent.

  The perogy egg rolls are amazing! My husbands meatloaf burger wasn't more than luke warm and my fish and chips unfortunately was still cold in the middle of the fish. Editing my review as the restaurant fixed my order and removed it from our bill before we were aware that was occurring - I was just happy to receive HOT food!. I ordered a chocolate shake to go which was delicious!
